Biography

Anthony Linares received his undergraduate degree from Pomona College, and MD and PhD from UCLA. He completed residency in Neurology at UCLA. He is currently an R25 clinical and research fellow at UCLA and Caltech.

As a clinical fellow, he is training in neurogenetics and neurobehavior. He is interested in understanding the present and future role of genetics in diagnosing and managing patients with complex neurodegenerative diseases. Working with Drs. Fogel, Rexach, and Vossel, he is excited to learn how genetics assists with the diagnosis and risk assessment of the dementias.

As a research fellow, he is working under the mentorship of Dr. Long Cai at Caltech. In Dr. Cai’s laboratory, he is applying spatial genomics to the study of late-onset Alzheimer’s disease. He will leverage this novel technology to study how single cells interact in their local tissue environments to mediate Alzheimer’s neurodegeneration.
