Purpose

The MAEVE study is a multi-center, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled study for cognitively normal older adults at enhanced risk of developing Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). The study seeks to enroll individuals who are aged 50+, have an immediate family member with AD, and have a BMI ≥ 25.0. Those who participate will have:

  • 4 in-person appointments over 1 year. Visits include MRIs, cognitive testing, and blood draws.
  • Monthly online questionnaires
  • Nutritionist consults
