Biography
Timothy Chang received his bachelor's degree from Stanford University and M.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He completed a residency in Neurology and fellowship training in Neurobehavior and Movement Disorders at UCLA. During his fellowship training, Dr. Chang completed a postdoctoral research fellowship in genetics before being appointed Assistant Professor of Neurology at UCLA.
His clinical expertise focuses on Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, particularly those with associated movement disorders. These include Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, Corticobasal Syndrome, Lewy Body Dementia, Frontotemporal Dementia, and Parkinson's disease.
Dr. Chang's research laboratory uses computational approaches on large datasets to understand the genetic and clinical factors that may lead to and affect the course of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. The long-term goal is to seek new therapies that can be individualized for each person.
